Las Vegas Raiders?
The possibility of an NFL team in Las Vegas is getting closer and closer. The city of Las Vegas can feel it and every media outlet in the country has posted articles that outline the real possibility of it happening. Mayor Carolyn Goodman of Las Vegas is confident it will happen. She said herself, “The Raiders will come if Nevada handles this properly.”
Luxury high rise owners are hopeful and excited! If the stadium does come and Las Vegas has a professional football team plant roots in the valley property values are expected to increase. With property’s like the Mandarin Oriental Condos and Veer Condos already seeing a steady rise in value from normal market conditions.
UNLV purchased the located close to the MGM Grand which has attracted the Raders owner Mark Davis and his potential billionaire partner Sheldon Adelson, the CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Durring the meeting with the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee on April 28th Mark Davis and Sheldon Adelson pledged $650,000,000 towards the state of the art 65,000 person stadium. Leaving only $750,000,000 of the potential cost to be funded by the state.
Accompanying the Raiders owner and billionaire investor at this meeting was legendary soccer player David Beckham who would like to promote the new stadium as a location for a MLS team to be housed as well as the NFL. Goodman said the site under consideration could host the NFL, MLS and UNLV football. She said she is confident that Las Vegas would get an MLS franchise. She also stated in her opinion funding the stadium would not be a major issue. “We are getting calls from outside the region offering to help with funding for the stadium,” Goodman said.
